May Instagram

Spring in Florence, Autumn in Melbourne - May almost burst at the seams, especially with all the cupcakes that were baked and eaten! "I love a bit of cake" was on a birthday button given to me by one of my sister's a few years back. Truer words have not been spoken. You can follow all my baking sessions - Instagram @RadaPriya

Rebel without a cause

We RSVP'd, along with 600 other cool cats, to the NEUW Denim party in Fitzroy this week. The event was held to showcase their new Sharp Jean line, the theme; canvas cut knives and blood red wool hanging from the ceiling, James Dean's Rebel Without a Cause flickering over a projector, and my favourite - the jazz artist belting out tunes barely audible over the crowd. Halve the people and it would have been an epic party, but it was all to close for my liking. I'm looking forward to a better look at the range in store Wearing NEUW Marilyn Jeans / H&M blouse / RadaPriya Faux Fur Jacket  Saci wears NEUW Marilyn Jeans / Lace tank and Satin Jewel Blouse from my A/W collection / Aztec Knit from ASOS

Autumn Leaves

It was a perfect Autumn day in Melbourne today, cool and sunny. We ventured to the north of the city to scope out whats new in the world of fabrics and found this tree lined street that was so colourful, we decided to take the long route round so we could enjoy it Wearing Zara Blazer & Knit / Ziggy Jeans / kicks from kmart / Blouse I stole from Saci ;) / Handbag from Thailand markets

Today is Monday

Undoubtedly we live in the best country in the world, but does it have to be so far from everything?! Its a minimum 9 hour plane trip to get anywhere off our big island, and having just returned from my 5th Europe visit in a little over 1 and half years, the 30+ hour journey, and its subsequent jetlag, is not getting any easier. My last day in Florence was heaven - the weather was a tolerable boiling, and the day unwrapped itself smoothly. We found a yarn store where I picked up some Italian wool for samples of my next Spring/Summer collection. An evening flight took me to Zurich, than on to Thailand where I spent 9 hours shopping and of course a massage. By the time I landed in Melbourne I had gone 44hours without sleep - that was Saturday - today is Monday: Its going to be a very exciting month W earing Bonds Singlet /  Stradivarius  Jeans / H&M neon wrist bling / River Island Neon Satchel

Sleeplessly I watch over spring nights

As another Spring in Florence draws to a close, I dream of spring time in Melbourne, and my next Spring/Summer collection. This last 6 weeks has been so inspiring, and although I am going home to winter, I look forward to cold nights designing and sewing samples.  This winter should be awesome; best friend's wedding, new baby boys I haven't met (my nephew Kit, and bestie's bub Aren), and hopefully the chance for my man to come down under and meet all you... ... working on the visa for Aus Wearing Audrey dress from my current A/W collection Audrey Jersey Dress now available online (here)

Toscana

On the weekend we decided to play tourist and head out of Florence into the surrounding Tuscan countryside. The weather was predicted to be cold and rain, but it turned out to be a warm spring day with only rain clouds passing by in the far horizon. We headed first to San Gimignano with its 14 medieval towers striking amongst the grapevine littered landscape. The city is small and only mopeds and bikes are allowed inside the walls. There are these naked statues at random spots through the streets - even one perched on the highest tower - their purpose puzzles me... For lunch we found this dark trattoria full of incredible art. We were invited to sit on the roof terrace, and although I wanted to sit in the romantic lit rooms to take in the art, nothing compared to the view from the rooftop - all of Toscana stretched out as far as the eye can see. We ate tagliatelle with local mushrooms and drank the wine famous in the region. The day was still young so we headed further south th...

santa spirito

29 perfect degree's      We, and the rest of Florence, were out to enjoy Every time I venture out into this beautiful city I seem to find somewhere new. Like today, we stumbled into this little piazza nearby the Pitti Palace. Santa Spirito is quaint and quiet, protected by the tall surrounding buildings. In the centre is a bubbling fountain, where art students are sprawled across it, drawing quietly the surrounding architecture. The huge trees are what make the space seem smaller and more intimate, and the afternoon sun fills the square with warmth. We drink wine outside the bar in the corner and eavesdrop on the Australians sitting at the next table. Its nearly 9pm when we walk back to the centre for a pizza dinner... the sun still golden over the Ponte Vecchio Read More  ☟
