During my lunch break today I took some time to reflect on the last 12 months. The years honestly fly by. It seems that yesterday I was walking through the freezing cobblestone streets of Florence as the first snow flakes started to fall... my first white Christmas 2010. Now I sit in my living room. 30+ degree's with full humidity, 4 hours til the ball drops. I made it to a quarter century on my [our] March Birthday, released my first Spring / Summer collection in October, started a facebook page with 179 fans [I love you all!], moved back to Melbourne from Italy, returned.... 3 times.... 149 blog posts, 16,229 blog visitors [Thank You sooooo much for your support] 678 hypes on lookbook, 1 amazing orange Cambridge satchel from ebay, two parking tickets... and I sold my car Last year! I fell out of a tree yesterday, just in time to make the list I made some great new friends, fell more in love with my old friends, spent not enough time with any of you... Your on the top of my list

The new year is fast approaching, so I thought I would dedicate this one to my sis - the twin one... who apparently is looking for more like me every year... or maybe I'm looking like her. Either way people telling us apart has not been too tricky, but when the ones close to us start to get confused, that sort of weirds us out. I started a holiday job with Zara a couple of days before Christmas and have had customer's claiming to know me. I try to explain, but one guy thought I was blowing him off. It wasn't fun in high school, and it's not very fun now. When we were younger and attended separate schools for awhile, we'd swap. Not being recognised marred me - well I think us both, because soon after Saci started dying her hair. Its great being a twin [although I don't actually know what its like any other way], and we have fun playing tricks, but you gotta believe me... shame we use finger print scanner to sign in to work, otherwise you might never know...

Can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than a walk around the Yarra River and Gardens. And its so nice this time of the year. Plus it makes for a great outfit playground because there are so many weddings and events going on ~ so you see great ensembles everywhere. You might recognise the skirt I made for Saci for our 25th B-day party earlier this year.... I can't believe we are almost 26! The evenings are really starting to warm up, which is just in time for Christmas. All the cafes and pubs are full all day and you'd be foolish to drive anywhere in the crowds, so I've been spending alot of time on the bike. Business has quietened down over the holidays, so its nice to be out and about.  Here's some snaps of the t-shirt dress i've been living in. Party season is upon us. So while I'm hauled up in my sewing room, Saci is checking in only to raid the closet for cuter outfits. This is not one of them, but we decided to play dress ups anyway. We took a walk to the Royal Botanical Gardens yesterday, the weather was balmy and overcast so I decided to give my chiffon birthday dress another go. I've been posting alot of outfit blogs recently so thought I should let you in on what I've actually been doing ~ designing and constructing my Autumn / Winter 2012 collection.  S/S '11 is light and beachy, whereas A/W '12 will be alot more lux. Faux suede and leather, velvet, silk and wool in more structured silhouettes. The sketch and sample below is on the fun and younger side. Loose fit faux suede with extra long sleeves and a curved raw edge hem. The skirt is a high waisted mini with patent acrylic fabric detail. I can't wait to share more as I start to develop my A/W '12 concept

Melbourne cbd was electric today ~ a million bee's buzzing in a hive. The heat was on and the wind was a gale, but despite the mayhem, there was that Christmas excitement in the air. Its this time of the year I love to be home, the humidity hugging you and people smiling. When I say "this time of the year", I mean literally, now - the weeks before and the month after. But Christmas itself - opening presents under a tree brings with it the Pandora's box of crazy. It's a family thing. Something so consistently annual that in adulthood we have decided to avoid each other at Christmas. Its not as sad as it sounds. Its like a wonderful gift. And makes the New Year together so much more  b̶e̶a̶r̶a̶b̶l̶e̶  enjoyable ...
